In a sentence: I love data, leading people and making a difference!

Longer version: I’m a senior level IT & data professional with extensive experience in retail, warehouse and supply chain systems and processes. I am a technical and pragmatic generalist, highly skilled in leading business improvement initiatives through the use and adoption of technology and the analysis and change of business processes. Experience in this area ranges from platform and partner selection, the implementation and integration of new technologies, complex enhancements to existing systems and processes resulting in fundamental business change, right through to reporting and analytics.

Reporting, analytics and insight is what really lights a fire within me. Many businesses are sat on data goldmines that aren’t being leveraged. Mining data, finding it’s secrets and turning it into insight is what I’m passionate about. Using skills like SQL, Python, Excel and Power BI (and underlying technologies like DAX and M), we can turn data into a story of where a business has been, and use it to predict where it’s going. Data – it’s like truth serum for a business.

I am a logical, process driven thinker adept at managing diverse projects within complex programmes – from requirements gathering and solution design to deployment and post go-live support. For larger projects, I have used both waterfall and agile approaches. My approach is that however complex the challenge, a simple solution should be delivered to the end user and customer.
